It’s so hard to find a place to pitch your tent for free in big cities. So many people. So little space. Fortunately we were able to find the perfect free camping spot in Ottawa. Flat. Green grass. Centrally located. What more could you ask for??
*For those who don’t know, this picture was taken in front of Canada’s national parliament buildings…

I suspect that the picture would have been that of Parliament Hill, but unfortunately I could not see it…

Now that is too funny! You didn’t have any crazy security guards come over to ask what you were up to?

Amazingly enough, two RCMP officers watched the whole thing and didn’t say a word. We were setting up the tent at high speed, totally ready to be told to take it down and shove off, but no one seemed to care. Maybe we really could have slept there??!

Heh Heh – You TOTALLY should have tried to sleep there! But then again, renegade camping and being asked to move just when you get comfy is no fun either…

My first thought was that you Photoshopped yourselves into the picture.

I have been following you on the web for the last 2 years, I even mimicked you by biking part of Syria and Lebanon, so it was to my great disappointment and chagrin to find out after the fact that you were in Ottawa and I did not get to chat with you, my loss.
What an inspiration you are.
