The Marathon XR was our tire of choice on tour because of its great longevity and puncture protection.
Schwalbe have stopped making it now, though, replacing the XR with two tires, the Dureme and the Extreme.
Are these still the best tires for touring? Or should bike tourists switch to something like the Continental Travel Contact? I asked Schwalbe and some bike store owners to weigh in on what they recommend.
