For Jonathan, bike touring has fulfilled a long-held dream. He’d always wanted to try seeing more of the world from the saddle of a bike but, like many people, the routines of life and work took over.
“I kept saying ‘one day, I will travel’ and ‘one day I will quit my job and go cycle touring’. Well 7 years later it took a serious mountain biking accident to make me realise that I had to make my dream come true as you never know what tomorrow holds. And so I quit my job and went on my first ever cycle tour 3500km around New Zealand. And now I’m hooked on cycle touring. I’d love to do end to end in the UK, circle Iceland, across Canada, down South America and around Scandinavia or may be I’ll link them all up and go around the world; who knows!”
