Cash machines (ATMs) are all over Malaysia so there’s no need to worry about lugging cash or travellers cheques with you.
Even in small mountain towns like Jeli, on the East-West highway, there’s at least one bank.

Wads of 50 Ringgit notes are usually dispensed from the bank. These are easily changed into smaller bills of 10s, 5s and 1s.
The Ringgit is made up of 100 sen and you’ll see coins of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 sen.
