Posted February 1st, 2010

gaylejohnGayle & John spent 3 years backpacking through Asia before they became infected by the bike touring bug. Now, they’re cycling from Thailand home to England, via China and Central Asia. If all goes well they’ll plan more two-wheeled trips in the future. Read about their travels on their blog: Sloths On The Move.

Chris & Liz

Liz and Chris are a British couple, who met in New Zealand 5 years ago. One of Chris’s early chat up lines was ‘What do you think about cycling around the world?’ Liz was the first girl not to run in the opposite direction! Since then the one-liner has developed into a full blown adventure.

They are cycling from New Zealand back to England, with money saved for 15 months travelling. They are cycling for themselves to learn more about each other and the world they live in, but also to raise money for Child’s Dream, so they can build a rural school in Southeast Asia. To find out more visit Bike About and you can follow them on Twitter and Facebook too!

David Munusamy

If you go to Malaysia, you have to visit David. That’s what we were told long before we ever reached Asia so by the time we passed through we were very curious about this famous bike tourist. David turned out to be one of the most memorable people on our tour, hosting us in his home and taking us on a grand tour of his area, then cycling with us for a few days. He’s one of the few people we’ve seen sucessfully ride and talk at the same time! And he’s done his fair share of touring too, riding to China and all around Europe.

Rob Thomson

Rob is a Kiwi who set off on a big cycle trip from Japan, made it all the way to Europe and then switched to a skateboard for his return to New Zealand. He eventually claimed the Guinness World Record for longest journey by skateboard. Quite a guy! His beautiful photos and journals are at 14Degrees Off The Beaten Track.
