“After a few holidays on bikes, we realized that there’s no more freedom than that. In 2009 we cycled all over Denmark and in 2010 to Vietnam. Both totally different but both extremely beautiful to cycle!”

“Due to these trips we decided to cycle to Sydney Australia, starting on 3 March 2012 in Breda, the Netherlands. The trip of our lifetime!!! Yahoo!!!”

Wooly Pigs & Peli

“We both love camping and cycling. For some reason it took some time for us to figure out that you could join them together and have much fun.”

“Our first tour was to Croatia and we really loved it. We went a couple of times to Wales as a warm up for our trip to New Zealand in 2010. In 2011, we are going to Denmark, France and a little tour of the UK, where we live. Our only problem now is where next, when and in what order? There are so many places to cycle tour.”

“I have been cycling for years, I lived in Poland for a few years and biked while there. I go off road around Wales and cross country where ever I can. As a teacher I use the long summer to cycle around Europe, the R1 route, along the Rhine, Denmark, Sweden, France and parts of Africa,” says Keith.

“I just love travelling by bike and get out as much as possible. The bike ways in Germany are so easy to follow it is so relaxing. Last year I cycled over 2,000km towing my Y frame trailer with all my camping gear.”

Hans is an occasional bike tourist, and a keen commuter, who rides with his son to school every day from their home in Denmark.

“Since the start of 2010 I own a trike and that is one of the best decisions I have made, next to biking as a way of transport,” says Hans. I also made a trailer now, which gives even more possibilities.”

Eddo Kloosterman is a long-time recumbent cyclist, with a love for exploring countries by either bike or canoe and kayak. He first started cycling as a way to escape the crowded bus to high school and took his first cycle tour from his home in the Netherlands to the northern most point of Denmark.

In 2010, Eddo took a big adventure: two months of cycle touring in spectacular New Zealand. “Next trip? Don’t know yet. The world is so big! But the North Sea Cycle Route is definitely an option,” says Eddo. You can read about Eddo’s adventures on his blog Cycling Aotearoa.
