Harry & Ivana

Harry Kikstra is a man who wears many hats. Among his passions are mountain climbing, photography, making films, writing, cycling and many other things that have to do with sharing the beauty of the outdoors. He’s climbed the 7 continental highpoints and has no plans to stop travelling anytime soon. As for Ivana, she’s a psychologist turned bike tourist, who’s already cycled around New Zealand and from Malaysia to India, through Turkey and in Italy. Together, Harry & Ivana are cycling from Northern Alaska to Southern Argentina.

They have a plethora of blogs. Ivana’s stories, in Spanish, can be found on El Mundo En Bici and Harry runs the websites Bike Travellers, 7 Summits and Exposed Planet.

You can read stories and see pictures of their current 2008-2011 trip from Alaska to Ushuaia on World On A Bike.

Christian is from northern Germany but like many other bike tourists, he feels more at home abroad. Recent bike tours have taken him through southern and eastern Asia.

In January 2008, he rode from Malaysia to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal and India. After challenging the higher roads in northern India, he returned home for the summer and his now planning more trips in Asia, basing himself in Nepal for trips out into the mountains. Read about Christian’s travels on his blog, in English and German: Terra Interminate (Earth Without Borders).

Ann Wilson

Posted November 21st, 2009

scenery1Ann Wilson’s adventures with bike touring started simply enough, with a ride from Carlisle to Ipswich. In 2004, a friend gave her a book called ‘A Bike Ride’ by Anne Mustoe and just a year later she was making plans to quit her job and ride around the world herself. “Life was suddenly too short to delay this project any longer than necessary,” she writes in her journal Through Europe and Beyond.
