“I cycled Australia in 2008 for 5,000 kms from Brisbane to Darwin, for fun. I was so inspired from my amazing ride I decided that I would have to cycle the whole thing: 18,000 kilometers in 7 months.”

“My first ride was an amazing experience, especially as I had never really done a tour before, but now… I am ready for a real tour!!! :)”

“I didn’t even own a bike when I was 23 and decided I wanted to try bike touring. I borrowed one, bought the cheapest panniers I could find, took an overnight bus to my starting point and explored my home province of British Colombia for a month.”

“I was hooked after that and convinced a girlfriend of mine to buy a bike and join me for a 6 month trip down the U.S. west coast, the Baja peninsula, and then around Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.”

“The two of us did another trip through Kyrgyztan and Tajikistan where we ran into some very cold weather in the Pamir mountains! Generally, we love dirt roads, high mountains and getting away from civilization on our bikes. We’re trying out a change of pace this fall, though, with a tour around sunny, warm Cuba :)”

“I was born in North Dakota, grew up in Nebraska, and claim Texas as my last U.S. address before beginning my South American bike tour,” says Trevor.

In June 2009, he set off to pedal from Colombia to Brazil via Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. After a break from the bike, Argentina is next on the list.

“Though being a homebody has its advantages I’m looking forward to feeling the freedom and mystery of bike travel again.”
