Sonya & Aaldrik are an Australian-Dutch couple who set off to tour the world in 2006.
Some 50,000km later, they’re still on the road and going strong. We caught up with them during their brief stay in Holland, in July 2010. In a cafe in The Hague, they told us about their journey, and shared some of the tips and experiences they’ve had along the way.

In this podcast, we also talk briefly about our upcoming tour to Denmark – two weeks of cycling up to the northernmost tip of Denmark, and back down to the German border.

A lot of the things you say happens to be astonishingly accurate and that makes me ponder why I had not looked at this with this light before. The root of your writing whilst sounding reasonable at first, did not sit perfectly with me personally after some time. Someplace throughout the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer unfortunately just for a while. I nevertheless have a problem with your jumps in assumptions and one might do well to help fill in all those gaps. When you actually can accomplish that, I could certainly end up being impressed.
