The Lunatec Aquabot is a water bottle with a nozzle, which sprays out water at the press of a button.
Minimalists will possibly think it’s a bit silly, but if you’re cycling through hot climates or just want to have fun, then we can recommend it — especially if you have kids to entertain.
After extensive testing over the summer, we can report that it easily kept our four year old amused in campsites across Europe for 30-60 minutes at a time.
In fact, the Aquabot repeatedly pushed the iPad down to second place in the favourite toy category. Anyone who’s seen how attached preschoolers can be to iPads, knows that this is quite the achievement for the Aquabot.
The amusement factor alone sold us on the Aquabot, but as it turns out it’s also really handy for cooling down on hot days, washing off sticky hands and sandy feet, and for doing the dishes. It’s also fairly robust. We dropped it several times on stone tiles and other unforgiving surfaces, and (aside from a few scratches) the Aquabot is still going strong.
Want one for your own family adventures? If you already own a wide-mouthed water bottle (63mm), then you can get just the cap. Otherwise, the Aquabot is also available with its own bottle.
