Price: $699 from REI
Specs: Steel frame. Truvativ 48-38-28 crankset with an 11-32 back cassette. 700 cc wheels. Disc brakes. Shimano shifters and derailleur. Alex rims.
Upsides: A steel frame is nice to see in this price range.
Downsides: Like its lower-range version, the Marin Muirwoods, you’ll need to buy racks. and you may want to replace the saddle too.

Man this one was hard to find! I actually did get my paws on a 2010 Muirwoods 29er, but I think it might have been the last one for sale anywhere in CA, at least that I could locate online. Virtually the same bike except for paint job and labeling.
The Muirwoods pictured here is the 2010 model (10-626-1) not the 2011 model via the link (A11-624-1F). 2011s are still barely available at REI.

I have a 2011 Marin Muirwoods 29er and totally love it! I am currently decking it out for touring this summer. I am wondering what brand or kind of front and rear racks I should use?
