Upsides: Trek have been making the 520 for years, so it has a proven reputation. Nice extra touches include the drop handlebars for a range of positions and the beautiful paint job.
Downsides: Only available in the 700 cc size. The 48-36-26 crank is a bit high for heavily loaded touring. The racks and saddle aren’t great quality and will need upgrading for tours of any length.
