Of PEI and Rail Trails

Friedel and the bright red mud of PEINear North Rustico, on the islandWe took a few days out last weekend and headed to Prince Edward Island for a 3-day tour around the island, which for those of you who don´t know Canada is a charming province just off the coast of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. PEI is a much-loved vacation spot for many people, whether you´re into lobster, beaches, golf or just beautiful scenery. While we were there, we recorded our latest show, which talks about our experiences with rail trails in Quebec, New Brunswick and PEI and features an interview with a volunteer trail patroler on PEI, who we met on the road.Frank is a friendly fellow who, in addition to telling us about PEI and its bike paths, also gave some advice on how to deal with bears, in a story passed on from a couple cyclists who encountered one in Alaska. Thank goodness you don´t have to worry about bears on PEI!
