His bike trips have taken him from Korea to Capetown, through countries like North Korea, Syria, Iraq and Nigeria and, as he says in this week’s 10 Questions, in most cases these countries have turned out to be havens of hospitality, rather than the scary places we sometimes imagine them to be.
